The CA Foundation course is the entry-level examination for the Chartered Accountancy (CA) profession in India, under the new scheme introduced by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). It aims to assess a candidate’s foundational knowledge in key subjects such as Accounting, Law, Business Economics, and Quantitative aptitude. The course is designed to provide a strong understanding of the basics required for advanced CA studies, focusing on building analytical, conceptual, and practical skills.

Key highlights of the new scheme:
1. Four papers:
– Paper 1: Principles of practices and Accounting
– Paper 2: Business Laws
– Paper 3: Quantitative aptitude
– Paper 4: Business Economics

2. Eligibility: Students who have completed their 12th standard (or equivalent) can register for the course.

3. Mode of Examination: The CA Foundation exam is conducted online 2 papers containing multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 2 papers of descriptive questions.

4. Frequency: The exams are held thrice a year, typically in January, May and September.

The course emphasizes a conceptual approach to subjects and prepares students for the more advanced stages of CA, such as Intermediate and Final.
